What to choose
The 10.25″ skillet is the one most people use every day, and the 8″ and 12″ skillets bracket it. Dutch ovens (2 qt and the 5 qt double Dutch oven) suit soups and bread. Grill pans, griddles and presses are for steaks and sandwiches. The gift sets pair a skillet with a cookbook, a second skillet or a wood board, and arrive ready to hand over.
Engraving
Lodge pieces are laser engraved, so the logo is cut into the iron rather than printed on it and does not wear off with cooking.
Good to know
Cast iron is heavy, which raises shipping cost on large orders. It also needs basic care: hand wash, dry and oil it, and never put it in the dishwasher. Include a care card if recipients are new to cast iron.
